Muthoot ATM is a division of Muthoot Finance Ltd., a flagship company of The Muthoot Group and India’s largest gold financing company. Muthoot Finance obtained the RBI’s licence to set up White Label ATMs (WLAs), placing it among the first NBFCs to receive that licence.
Federal Bank is the sponsor bank for the venture and FIS Payment Solutions & Services India is the technical partner. The first Muthoot ATM was launched on March 6th, 2014, at Hotel Le Meridian in Maradu, Kochi.
ATMs planned across India, reaching every city, town and village.
Muthoot ATM operates a white label ATM network that places secure cash access points at easily reachable locations across many towns and villages. The service is designed around a simple idea: people should be able to withdraw cash, check a balance, or complete routine banking tasks without travelling long distances to a branch. Locations are chosen for convenience and visibility, so the machines sit where customers already travel for other everyday needs.
Cash withdrawal is the core function of the network, and it works with bank cards issued across the banking system. Because the machines are deployed on white label terms, they serve customers of many different banks at the same physical counters. A customer can use a familiar card at a nearby Muthoot ATM rather than searching for a specific institution's own machine, which makes everyday cash access far more practical.
Balance enquiry and mini statement services are available alongside cash withdrawals, helping customers review account information without entering a branch. Requesting a mini statement at the machine gives a quick overview of recent activity, while a balance enquiry shows available funds at a glance. Together these features support everyday banking needs and reduce the number of trips people need to make to check on their accounts.
Muthoot ATM does not charge a processing fee for the transactions carried out at its machines, and all bank cards are accepted for use. Removing fee barriers matters most for customers making small, frequent withdrawals, where even a modest charge adds up quickly. The network's approach is to keep the cost of basic cash access transparent and predictable, so users know what to expect each time they use a machine.
Security is built into every aspect of the network, from the physical environment of each outlet to the card handling technology inside the machine. Card readers, keypads, and cash dispensing units are maintained to recognised standards, and screens display clear instructions to guide users through each step. Customers are asked to safeguard their PIN at all times, since the machine itself cannot protect details that are voluntarily shared or written down carelessly.
The network extends beyond machine-only counters, with mini statement printing, PIN change facilities, and a card acceptance and processing model that supports wider financial inclusion. Customers who need to check balances, review recent transactions, or update card credentials can do so at a nearby point rather than travelling to a larger branch. This layered set of services is what allows a small location to function as a practical alternative to a full branch.
Muthoot ATM also supports wider digital banking journeys, including Aadhaar seeding, cheque book requests, fund transfers, and registration assistance for customers who need help completing formalities. These value-added offerings are aimed at individuals as well as entities, giving users a single accessible point for cash services and paperwork that would otherwise require separate visits. The result is a broader banking relationship built around convenience rather than proximity to a head office.
A loyalty programme known as Rewardz gives customers a reason to return to the network beyond the immediate need for cash. By tracking activity at participating machines, the programme adds a small benefit to transactions that would otherwise be routine and unremarkable. Such reward structures encourage repeat usage and help build familiarity with the brand, while reinforcing the idea that a frequently used ATM can offer value over time.
Locating a machine is straightforward, since each outlet lists its address, working hours, and available services through the site's location finder. Customers can search by town or village to identify the nearest point and confirm what is offered before travelling. The site also publishes company profile information, industry and blog content, press releases, press notices, terms and conditions, and a disclaimer, along with grievance and FAQ sections for resolving concerns.
Of the planned ATMs are targeted at semi-urban and rural areas.
